Fall is an amazing time of year for Colorado residents. The views of the leaves changing in the Rockies are stunning and the fall festivals are endless. We picked some of our favorite activities to make your choices a little easier this fall. So, put on your favorite flannel, grab a pumpkin spice latte and check out one of these awesome fall activities.

Great American Beer Fest
The Great American Beer Festival takes place every year in the fall. Several of Denver’s thriving craft breweries take over the Colorado Convention Center, a few blocks from Civic Park. This annual celebration showcases thousands of different brews from 800 breweries. A representative from each brewery will be happy to pour you a glass and answer any questions you might have. Judges are also on site to choose medal-winning beers in the Beer Competition. You’re invited to taste them and pick your favorites, too!

Fright Fest
Don’t be afraid of a spooky good time! Every weekend in October, join the festivities of Fright Fest at Elitch Gardens Theme and Water Park. From haunted houses to tasty treats and many spooktacular events, this thrilling attraction is fun for the whole family. All of the exciting rides will be open for you to enjoy as well.

The Rockies
Explore the peaceful autumn atmosphere with many scenic byways and nature preserves, surrounded by towering trees and majestic mountains. Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city with a trip on I-70, the gateway to the Rockies. This route allows you to see the aspen trees changing colors. Bring your camera, your sense of adventure, and your jacket to experience our beloved mountains!

Denver Botanic Gardens
You can find another breathtaking natural environment at the Denver Botanic Gardens. Make sure you save time during your stay to explore this beloved favorite of our guests and locals alike. It’s less than five minutes away from Castle Marne Bed & Breakfast and is a gorgeous place to see fall in Denver! From the moment you step foot on this beautiful city escape, you’ll be captivated by seasonal blooms, intricate sculptures, and festive celebrations.

Boo at the Zoo
To complement your incredible Denver fall experience, make plans to trick-or-treat and watch unique animal demonstrations at Boo at the Zoo. At this all-day event, you have the chance to interact with and get up close to a variety of animals. Movie lovers should be pleased to know that the Mile High City hosts one of the most acclaimed film festivals in the country. The Denver Film Festival takes place in multiple locations throughout two weeks at the start of November. Enjoy numerous films, meet directors, and even vote for the winners of the People’s Choice Awards!

Oktoberfest
Get ready for several days of good times and great beer at the Annual Denver Oktoberfest! This celebration brings the tastes and flavors of authentic German culture to you. Say “Prost” to a good year and fun-filled times at the Oktoberfest at the end of September. Another one of the most popular fall festivals in Denver, this event is filled with an array of music, food, dancing, and, of course, drinks! Stop by 20th and Larimer to join in the excitement! Don’t forget to bring your appetite for bratwurst and beer!

Pumpkin Fest
In early October, the Denver Botanic Gardens serves as a scenic backdrop for the Pumpkin Fest in Denver. One of the most anticipated events in October, you’ll have the opportunity to choose from thousands of pumpkins to paint or carve. With ten acres of pumpkins to explore, you’re sure to find the perfect one! In addition, you can peruse the vendor booths for seasonal products, participate in several activities, or pet the farm animals. Children can enjoy pony rides, carnival games, tractor rides, and so much more. It’s one of the best ways to bring in the autumn season and welcome Halloween this year!

Rock ‘n’ Roll Denver Half Marathon
Attendees are welcome to participate in this fun run each year at the end of October. Race for a cause and support several worthy charities at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Denver Half Marathon, then enjoy a remarkable concert at the finish line to celebrate your success! Previous performances have included the Goo Goo Dolls and Train. Walk or run, because no matter what place you come in, you’re sure to have an exceptional time!

Denver International Wine Festival
Are you a wine connoisseur? Well, even if you’re not, you can still enjoy the Annual Denver International Wine Festival! For three days at the start of November, you can taste some of the most exquisite wines in the country. Chefs will also be competing in a food-and-wine pairing competition. There are even fascinating seminars to teach you everything you’ve ever wanted to know about wine!
