As 2016 comes to a close, we reflect and review the past 12 months at RSS.

yearinreviewAs the end of a year draws closer, many of us begin to look back on the many events and activities of the past 12 months and reflect on the goals attained, milestones reached and changes that have occurred.  We mentally make note of the successes and failures of the year and begin to look forward to what the new year will bring. At our agency, we’re no different.  While 2016 had a few challenges, overall we believe the year was a great one for RSS and our team!  We’re very excited about the changes we saw during the year and can’t wait to see what 2017 brings.
In our review, we compiled a list of changes or events we experienced that we think strengthened our agency and our team.

FOUR Great Charities  Our agency continued supporting four great charities in 2016.  Throughout the year we raised money and volunteered with and through our charities.  We continued our charity-centered referral program with our “Charities of the Quarter.”  As in the past, we highlighted one charity each quarter.  During that quarter RSS donates $10.00 for every referral we receive to that charity.  By the end of the year, RSS will have donated over $2,500.00 to charities just through our referral program.  Thank you to all of our clients and friends for their support.FHFH Jamestown Build
We supported the following four charities, this year:  A Precious Child, Flatirons Habitat for Humanity, Food Bank of the Rockies and Samaritan’s Purse.  We encourage you to learn more about all four of these great organizations.  The RSS team was able to volunteer at the resource center for A Precious Child in February (as well as collected 4,099 diapers and 3,880 wipes during our annual diaper drive), help rebuild a home in Jamestown in May, volunteer at the Food Bank of the Rockies Warehouse in September (as well as raise $350.00 with our online food drive), fill 117 Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes in November and we volunteered at the OCC Processing  Center just this month.  Whew! It was a busy year, but we had such a great time helping these amazing charities!
THREE New Employees   We were very fortunate this year and were able to add three fantastic new members to the RSS team.  We hired Rena Hummel as our new group benefits specialist, Leah Terzulli as our newest personal lines account manager, and Bekah Thurman as our agency administrative assistant/receptionist. We are very excited about the addition of these three ladies, as we believe they will be a great asset to RSS and our clients.  We hope you get to meet them soon if you haven’t already!

TWO New Agents  We were also extremely fortunate to be able to bring on two fantastic new agents this year as  well.  Michelle McDonald joined our team in May as our in-house individual health insurance specialist and advisor! We were so excited to welcome her to RSS as she brings with her 20 years of experience in the health insurance industry.  Nicole Baldizan was the latest agent to join our team in July this year.  She is a property and casualty insurance-licensed agent and has been advising and helping people with their insurance needs for 14 years. If you are looking for a knowledgeable, experienced and very personable agent to advise you about insurance, both of these ladies would be a tremendous asset to you. We are excited to have them as part of our team of advisors!

TWO New Company Relationships  2016 also brought with it the addition of two new and exciting carrier contracts for RSS.  We are happy to announce that we now represent two additional insurance companies,  providing us with even more quality options for our clients.  RSS signed contracts with Central Insurance Company and Great American Insurance. Central Insurance is a great addition for not only our personal lines clients, but our commercial clients, as they offer great coverage options and rates for both of these segments of clients.  Great American Insurance is engaged primarily in property and casualty insurance focusing on specialized commercial products for businesses. We are particularly excited about their  offering of human and social services insurance coverages as RSS specializes in providing insurance for education, day care and religious institutions.  We are happy to offer our customers even MORE options!

Yep, 2016 was a very productive and busy year for our agency! We are very excited about the changes and additions we made, and we are hopeful that 2017 will be a great year as well. Happy Holidays and here’s to a very  happy and joy-filled New Year!
