Another Year in the Books, Another RSS Year in Review

As another year ends, we look back on the many events and activities of the past 12 months and reflect on the goals we attained, our milestones reached and the changes that have occurred.  We mentally make note of the successes and failures of the year and begin to look forward to what the new year will bring. While 2018 had a few challenges, we think the year was a great one for RSS and our team!  We’re very excited about the changes we saw during the year and can’t wait to see what 2019 brings.

In our review, we compiled a list of changes or events we experienced that we think strengthened our agency and our team.

Agency Name Change, Rebranding and New Website

Probably the biggest change of all this year was transitioning our agency name from Richards, Seeley & Schaefer to RSS Insurance Services. We decided the time was right to update and simplify our name. As part of the name changing process, we also determined it was a perfect time to update our logo, tagline, overall branding, agency website, and signage. We wanted to connect with our clients and our community in a fresh, authentic, more approachable and modern way.  The process was super fun and we hope you like our finished product.

Partnering with our Employees and Charities

At RSS, we believe everyone should have access to a healthy lifestyle. This belief launched the addition of our RSS TeamWellness Program in March. We hired a fitness and nutrition professional to host monthly “Wellness Meetings” at our office, as well as provide support through an interactive RSS Wellness Facebook page for support, tips and ideas.

In 2018 we also continued to support four awesome charities on a monthly basis. In addition to donating $10 to charity for every referral we received, we actively volunteered with our charities as well.  We hosted a Diaper Drive in February for A Precious Child as well as volunteered in their resource center that same month. We were also proud sponsors of their yearly “Fill a Backpack” program.  Later in the year we hosted a Virtual Food Drive for Food Bank of the Rockies and volunteered at their warehouse, packing boxes of food for seniors in our community. We finished out the last part of the year by packing 152 Operation Christmas Child (OCC) shoeboxes for impoverished children and then volunteering at the Denver processing center for OCC this month. Whew! It was a busy year, but we had such a great time helping these amazing charities!

Hello and Goodbye to Amazing Team Members

2018 brought a lot of team members changes as well. Two beloved RSS team members retired this year. In March, we celebrated Cathy Regalado and her amazing 10 years at RSS as she decided to retire from insurance and stay at home with her grandchildren.  We were also sad to say goodbye to Elisabeth Robbins and her four years of dedication and service to our agency as she decided to become a stay at home mom with her young son.

While we said goodbye to two awesome team members, we also welcomed FIVE (yes 5!) amazing ladies to our team. We hired Jenna Witt as our Community Relations Manager, Christie DeFurio as our newest commercial insurance advisor,  Kim Trotter as our newest commercial account manager, Shawna Railey as our newest personal lines account manager, and Caralyn Kolberg as our agency administrative assistant/receptionist. We are very excited about the addition of these five ladies, as we believe they will be a great asset to RSS and our clients.  We hope you get to meet them soon if you haven’t already!

2018 was a very productive and busy year for our agency! We are very excited about the changes and additions we made and are hopeful that 2019 will be a great year as well. Happy Holidays and here’s to a very happy and joy-filled New Year!
